Australia’s classic river journey
The Mitta Mitta boasts one of the highest ‘put-ins’ in Australia at 680m in elevation. This river packs a serious punch. The continuous grade 2-3 rapids make for a wild descent off the Great Divide. Plummeting between intricate rock formations for 18km will certainly ensure your adrenalin hits overdrive. You’ll tackle grade 2 and 3 rapids such as Graveyard, the ‘S’ bend, Bump and Grind, Big Stopper, Dislocation, The waterfall, Gobbler and Three plus. These technical rapids require many manoeuvres and are guaranteed to test the skills of the most experienced rafters.
History and Culture
During this trip, Australian history comes to the fore, as you will have the rare opportunity to explore 19th century miners’ diggings. Afterwards, you can relax and enjoy the grandeur of the steep bare rock gorges which characterise this wilderness area.
Whilst this trip can be run as a day trip we highly recommend booking a two day journey which includes good aussie pub accommodation and hearty meals. Good trip if you have rafted before and want some extra thrills.
Groggin Plains journey

Encounter the Wildlife
The Groggin Plains section of the Upper Murray is surrounded by the spectacular Kosciuszko National Park, home to emus, kangaroos, wombats and rich native birdlife.
You’ll experience a dramatic cascade of grade 1-2 rapids, set against the backdrop of Tom Groggin Station - a unique tribute to the High Country cattlemen and home of the 'Man from Snowy River'. This Australian icon oozes heritage and culture and provides a breathtaking contrast to the vast mountain range behind it
Guide your own raft
After the morning’s adrenalin rush, the river calms a little, allowing you to guide your own raft, whilst under the close supervision of our experienced staff. Guiding your own raft is challenging but exhilarating, and is the best way to tackle these rapids, with waves up to 1m high.
Fantastic trip in the summer months, plenty of time to swim and have fun in the sun.
