WILDERNESS EXPERIENCES
Clasified as a "Heritage River" this wild waterway descends through the Alpine National Park and one of Australia’s most spectacular granite ravines. The Mitta Mitta Gorge
Continuous grade 2 to 4 rapids make for a wild descent off the Great Divide. Plummeting between intricate rock formations for 18km will ensure your adrenalin hits overdrive. Major challenges include; Graveyard, ‘S’ bend, Bump and Grind, Big Stopper, Dislocation, The waterfall, Gobbler and Mine Field. These technical rapids require many manoeuvres and are guaranteed to test the skills of all rafting enthusiasts.
The Mystery Gorge
The ‘Mystery Gorge’ is the steepest and most technical continuous grade 4 whitewater on the Mitta River! The serene alpine vistas, calm water and incredibly exposed stalactites and stalagmites at the start of your journey are quickly contrasted as the the Mitta narrows to half its width and drops 75m in the first 4 km! The big drops start at Devils Gate, and continue through numerous incredible whitewater challenges such as Cemetery Bend, Triple Stager, Flipster, The Terminator and Needles eye!
The Lower and Upper Mitta
Challenging grade 2-3 rapids make for a wild descent. Plummeting between intricate rock formations for 6 km will certainly ensure your adrenalin hits overdrive. You’ll tackle, the Weir, Rollercoaster, Sharks tooth part 1, 2 & 3, Raft Eater and many more. Soothe the adrenalin rush with a relaxing swim in the pristine pools.
